There are many instances when a car manufacturing company fails to follow through with their models. This isn’t the case with the 1969 Jaguar E-type, Series II, an amazing follow up to the C-type and D-type Jaguars that didn’t disappoint the public.

Jaguar E-Type is always cited when the best sports cars are being name checked. In fact, this sports car is-perhaps the very few ones that can rival the name recognition that the Porsche 911-has.

For instance, the Daily Telegraph cites the E-type as the best sports car of all time in terms of aesthetic beauty—easily beating out the-likes of lesser known Citroen DS, the elegant Ferrari Dino GT line, and the iconic Aston Martin DB4-GT Zagato. Sports Car International, meanwhile, cites the E-type as the best sports car from the 1960s—only the most important decade for sports cars,-alongside the 50s. In any case, the Jaguar E-type certainly covered all the bases when it comes to quality and power.

The Jaguar E-type, or Jaguar XK-E in the United States, is a far more powerful product compared to the already very impressive XK-150, which was the E-type’s predecessor. It was lighter and shorter, and obviously much faster, with an independent-rear suspension that made it an even more commendable creation. Ideally, the Jaguar E-type serves as the successor to both the D-Type and the Jaguar XK 150. Among its line, it also has the longest lifespan, with over a decade in-production.

However, unlike the C-Type, this one isn’t merely an update of its XK predecessor. The E-Type was really intended to be lighter than both the D-Type and the XK 150 (there was even a lightweight E-Type, which h is obviously lighter than the original E-Type).

What made the E-Type marked in the world of sports cars? Its sexy design—something that the world has never-seen before. It was a marked change from the XK series which, although it several updates, had-similar looks (a reason why many people lump XK 120 to XK 150 together, as if they are all the same-car).

The 1969 Jaguar E-type, Series II model is the one with the number of units produced. This, of course, means that it-is the most valuable of the three E-Type series produced. This 1969 Jaguar E-type, Series II had changes that are more physically and aesthetic than internal, although that also-makes this car more iconic. Still, improvements on the cooling system of the car, among others, do-make the 1969 Jaguar E-type, Series II

a better Jaguar than the first E-Type. Like the first E-Type, the 1969 Jaguar E-type, Series II is available as a two-door coupe, a two-convertible, and a two-door 2+2 coupe.

The 1969 Jaguar E-type, Series II, and all the other E-Type reiterations, are considered as legendary sports cars. This is something the successor of the E-Type, the Jaguar XJS, was not able to recreate. And in fact, this was intentional, since the XJS was-very much far from the XK and the E-type in terms of looks, perhaps a sign that even the powers that be in Jaguar know that it would be-quite hard to surpass the beauty that is the Jaguar E-Type.
