1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4

The Ferrari 275 is indeed a great car line. In fact, some of the updates of the 275-can be considered as some of the best ever made. For instance, the California Spyder Ferrari 250-remains to be one of the most iconic cars not only in the automobile industry but also in popular-culture as well. 

With this in mind, it would have been easy to say that any successor to the 250-would have a hard time filling in its shoes—or, in this case, overtaking its tracks. Perhaps-this is the reason why the 250 had two successors: the 275 and the 330. Although the 330 was an-achievement in its own right, the company could have lived with just one. The Ferrari 275 turned out-to be an amazing car, and the 1967

The first 275 was released in 1964 and the line lasted until 1968. It was a two-seater and a major departure from the 275. Critics said it looks more graceful compared to the 250-and this was with basis, of course. In any case, the 275 was divided into two classifications: the-275 GTB was a coupe, while the 275 GTS was a spider. The GTB was said to look rather aggressive at-that time, although the smooth design was evident. This will look more evident too after the company-retired the 275 GTB/GTB and replaced it with the Daytona, a rather boxy and less elegant-looking car that was often considered as the lesser cars among the Ferrari designs (of course, years-later, people thought differently).

In any case, the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB has an independent rear suspension and its-gearbox was moved from the front to the rear for improved weight distribution. The engine was also-shifted. What’s really striking the GTB is the combination of beauty and power. It was light-and drives like a dream. Needless to say, it sold rather well, with over 1000 units made. Later on,-Ferrari would create updates to the GTB. For instance was the GTB/4, a model designed by renowned-company Scagletti. This car was indeed different from the GTB that was previously released, although-the intrinsic idea for the design was the same. An American version of the GTB/4 was also-made—the GTB/4 NART Spider (only 10 of these units were made, hence becoming a rare and-expensive collector’s vehicle). 

If you would notice, there wasn’t much said about its performance on the road-in terms of competition. The 275 was a competent car, as one could not expect less from Ferrari, but-what really made this car iconic and popular is its design and beauty. It was easily uniquely-beautiful right from the start. The difference of the usual berlinetta designs made of the company-obviously paid off. The 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB is one of the most successful successors ever.-Considering what it had to beat, this was no easy feat at all.
